Northeast Iran reveals itself in layers. The journey begins on the high plateau outside Tehran, moves through semi-arid plains toward Shahrud, rises into the forested slopes of Nahar Khoran and Golestan, then descends again toward the cultural landscapes of Nishapur and the desert edge of Ferdows. Each day shifts terrain, climate, and atmosphere — creating a natural progression across some of Iran’s most diverse regions.
The route is designed for travelers who appreciate varied landscapes, light nature walks, regional history, and towns that still preserve strong local identity. Driving distances are balanced with regular stops and structured lunch breaks to maintain a comfortable rhythm.
