Bam Citadel, known as Arg-e Bam, located in Bam, Kerman Province, Iran, is an ancient adobe citadel and one of the largest in the world. Dating back to the Sassanid era (224–651 CE), it has a rich history, including periods of prosperity as a trade center on the Silk Road and various phases of destruction and reconstruction. The citadel, which covers an area of 180,000 square meters, includes residential areas for different social classes, a governor’s residence, mosques, a school, a bathhouse, and more.
